Mary Elizabeth Winstead has finally confirmed her role in the highly anticipated Disney Plus series Ahsoka. The announcement was made during Star Wars Celebration 2023, where she took to the stage of the Lucasfilm Studios Showcase to reveal that she will be playing the live-action version of Hera Syndulla, a beloved character from the animated series Rebels.
This news has been eagerly anticipated by fans since May last year when it was first announced that Winstead would be joining the cast.
However, her character was not revealed until now. Winstead was also briefly shown in her full costume as Twi’lek, which has caused excitement among fans.
It’s not surprising that Hera Syndulla is making an appearance in Ahsoka since fellow Rebels character Ezra Bridger was confirmed to be in the show as well, played by Eman Esfandi. This means that fans will get to see these two characters come to life in a live-action format.
Ahsoka is set to be released on Disney Plus in August 2023. Another panel is also scheduled for April 8, which will give fans a deeper look into the upcoming series.
The show began production in May last year and will follow the latest steps in Ahsoka’s journey. The character has previously appeared in The Clone Wars, Rebels, and The Mandalorian.
