This feature is currently being distributed to beta testers as part of beta version 2.21.3.13.

For now, the app only allows you to trim videos and add text and emoticons. Users who have received the beta update will see a “Volume Icon” in the edit menu before sharing. Pressing the icon once will mute the video and pressing it again will activate the sound.

According to the image released by WABetainfo, the symbol is located below the video search bar. The other options remain the same.

Note that with this new feature, only users can remove all audio from the video. This doesn’t just apply to certain parts of the video.

In other news, WhatsApp is also working on a feature to support multiple devices. According to reports, this feature will soon be available on the stable version of WhatsApp and some users of older versions of the app will be able to use it too.
