Junaid Safdar won’t engage in politics

Junaid Safdar, the grandson of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, has moved to Pakistan. He confirmed this on Friday, but he made it clear that he won’t be doing any political work there.

Today, he announced his departure to Pakistan in a post on Instagram, in which he said that he did so “solely to be of service to his parents, family, and community.”

“I will not be participating in any political activity, nor do I have any interest in politics for now,” Junaid said, adding that he was enjoying the winters in Lahore and that he had missed them. “I will not be participating in any political activity, nor do I have any interest in politics for now.”

Several news stories said that Junaid Nawaz would help his mother, Maryam Nawaz, with her job as Senior Vice President of the PML-N in the upcoming general elections.

Junaid has, for the most part, avoided being the centre of attention. In the previous year, he made news due to the lavish wedding ceremony that he held in Pakistan.

Maryam and her father are currently on their way to Geneva for a vacation that will last for one week. This visit will take place at the same time as Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s attendance at the UN donors meeting.
