Sophie Turner is Joe Jonas’ acting coach. The Jonas Brothers discussed their new film “Devotion” on this week’s Just for Variety.Jonas plays Marty Goode in J.D. Dillard’s film.
When asked if he was nervous while recording the audition clip, Joe credited his wife and Game of Thrones alum.
“When you have a wonderful actress like Sophie Turner filming and directing you, you have to bring your A-game,” he said.
“She’s my harshest critic.” Yes, I’ll be nervous, but she’s very helpful and will be a terrific acting coach. “I owe her.”
Joe also said that Turner’s critiques improved his work when he thought he’d done a fantastic job. “When I believe I nailed it, she says, ‘No, do it again.'” “S—t!” That’s it. I appreciate her honesty. That’s it.”
The film marks DNCE’s comeback to acting. I haven’t acted in a while. Pandemic provided me with time. I couldn’t tour, so I wondered, “What should I do?” “Jonas,”
“I’ve always wanted to act again.” The audition process was standard. “I put myself on video and called back on tape, met director J.D. Dillard, and it progressed from there.”
Jonas said it “depends on the part or project” if he and Turner star together. Fun, I think.”
