Arshad Sharif murder case: Faisal Vawda joins FIA investigation, Murad Saeed stays away

Faisal Vawda, a former minister and leader of the PTI, spoke in front of the FIA’s fact-finding committee.

Murad Saeed did not appear before the committee but filed a written statement. The letter claimed an “impartial, transparent, and independent inquiry” from the FIA was not expected because it was a federal agency. He claimed the federal government was antagonistic toward Arshad Sharif even while his life was in danger.

Vawda said the investigative agency gave him a questionnaire. He said the journalist’s assassination was plotted in Pakistan, and the fact-finding commission is doing “excellent work.”
He stated it was more important to find Arshad Sharif’s killers than the shooter (or shooters). He said Arshad’s killers may easily flee abroad and must be apprehended.

He said the people behind the plot to disqualify and assassinate PTI Chairman Imran Khan wanted to become prime minister.

I follow Imran Khan. “If he calls, I’ll visit,” he said. Vawda was expelled from the party for breaking policy.

He added that Arshad Sharif’s murder was sad and there should be no cheap jokes. He said the senior journalist was shot from close range and that the country was asleep until his news conference.

Vawda said he discussed Arshad Sharif’s murder in his news conference, and the FIA corroborated the information. “I am satisfied that the team investigating Arshad Sharif’s murder is strong since the job done so far is extremely strong,” he said. “I hope that the criminals who aren’t caught in Pakistan will be taken to court.”

Vawda said he saved his evidence for the following hearing. Salman Iqbal had nothing to do with the murder or conspiracy, but he’ll be asked to cooperate in the case. The former minister said he maintained contact with Arshad until he left.
