PTA and NEPRA sign MoU for many collaborations

During a ceremony at PTA Headquarters, the PTA and the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to improve communication, collaboration, and professional development.

Naveed Illahi Sheikh, NEPRA Director General (Admin/HR), signed the MOU on behalf of the organization, Major General (R) Amir Azeem Bajwa HI, who is the head of the PTA, was also there (M).

Cybersecurity, the move to Smart Grids and Advance Metering Infrastructure (AMI) programs. Power-to-Community through telecom infrastructure in rural sites, alternative energy solutions, and power tariffs for the telecom sector. Sharing knowledge about how to best use f are all areas where the two parties can work together.

As part of the MoU’s capacity-building program, the two parties it has agreed to hold seminars, and discussion forums. Training on topics like current issues and technical breakthroughs. This will be based on their combined experience and knowledge.

The Chairman of the PTA talked about how the authority works to make sure residents possess access to ICT services. The benefits of having coverage everywhere, even in rural areas. Working together with NEPRA is a must if the whole country is to have reliable power.

The assets of Pakistan’s power sector, worth billions of dollars, are always at risk. But the NEPRA Chairman also talked about the first-ever cyber security push that focuses on information technology and operational technology.

The chairman also said that he has now put in a lot of work to bring about a technological revolution in the electricity industry by starting to pass laws about blockchain technology, artificial intelligence, smart grids, and electric vehicles.
