Nepra Chief: Power Sector Needs Comprehensive Cybersecurity Model

Tauseef H. Farooqi, the head of NEPRA, has said that cyberattacks are a threat that needs addressing with a model for governing cybersecurity that covers everything. The Chairman of NEPRA mentioned this earlier today.

He went on to say that this strategy would create a culture that is safe and secure by design. The Chairman said this to explain his previous point. He said that this is what would happen if you are doing what he suggested.

This month, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) held a webinar called “Cybersecurity Challenges in Critical Infrastructure (Power Sector)” to discuss the many cybersecurity model problems that have recently been brought to light by different entities in Pakistan’s power sector. The webinar’s topic was Cybersecurity Challenges in Critical Infrastructure (Power Sector). Cybersecurity Challenges in Critical Infrastructure (Power Sector) was the name of the webinar, and it was about that subject.

During the event in question, Mr. Tauseef H. Farooqi, the Chairman of NEPRA, gave his opinion about the issue. He says that the spread-out nature of power plants and related infrastructure makes cybersecurity in the power sector harder than in other industries. He said that this was because everyone was using the internet more.

Dr. Basit Shafiq and Mr. Mubarik Mustafa, both experts in cybersecurity, shared their knowledge with the attendees. They explained where security flaws and threats come from. In addition, they give information about the technology used for cyber defense and the systems that control and monitor power networks.
