Punjab police Atta Tarar, spokesperson for the PML-N and Punjab Home Minister, stated that PTI leader Shahbaz Gill was taken into custody on Sunday in Muzaffargarh.
According to Geo News, Gill was taken into custody after he was accused of going to several different polling booths during the by-elections that were taking place in the city with his security guards while they were disguised as FC members.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has stated that the following should be adhered to in accordance with the election code of conduct for political parties and candidates: “At public gatherings and processions, neither the carrying nor the display of any kind of potentially lethal weapon, including a firearm, is permitted, and official regulations regarding this matter must be adhered to with the utmost diligence. At public gatherings, participants are not permitted to utilize aerial firing, crackers, or any other type of explosive.”
On the other hand, Gill refuted the charges that the FC officials’ jerseys were ever worn by any security officers at the stadium. He said that he had been talking to someone for three hours before being arrested without a warrant unexpectedly.
