The Federal Cabinet (Govt) will set up an auction advisory committee on Friday. GHQ and also ISI officials will be on the committee.
The (Govt) Auction Advisory Committee will be in charge of keeping an eye on the NGMS spectrum auction. The meeting of the cabinet on Friday will be led by Shehbaz Sharif. If Cabinet agrees with the decision to form an ECC committee, therefore that will be the end of it.

As a result of COVID-19, the federal government set up an advisory committee in October 2020. Work on “Releasing Next Generation Mobile Services (NGMS) Spectrum in Pakistan”. AJ&K and GB come in 2021. The MoIT&T shall issue its policy directive on August 4, 2021, after the Federal Cabinet agrees to the ECC’s recommendations.
Pakistan held auctions for the NGMS spectrum in 2014, 2016, 2017, and 2021. About 30 MHz of the 1900/2100 MHz band, 29 MHz of the 1800 MHz band, and 10 MHz of the low-band 850 MHz spectrum were sold at auction. With the help of Frontier Economics, the PTA sold off the spectrum in 2021. PTML/Ufone got 29 licenses in the 1800 MHz spectrum over the course of 15 years.
Section 8(2) of the Pakistan Telecommunication (Re-organization) Act of 1996 says that the Federal Government can issue a policy directive to set up a spectrum auction to give all interested new and also existing operators access to available frequency bands.
In the past, a PM/FCAC was in charge of overseeing spectrum auctions. In a similar way, the Ministry approved the members and rules of an advisory committee.
