Today, the report of a medical commission that was established to assess the age of Dua Zehra, the teenage girl who went missing from Karachi and later claimed to have married Zaheer Ahmed, was made public. The committee was constituted to determine Dua Zehra’s age.
The report states that the medical board judged her age to be between 14 and 15 years old by taking into account her physical appearance, whereas the age determined by her teeth is anywhere between 13 and 15 years old.
The bone ossification test, on the other hand, determined that she is between the ages of 16 and 17 years old.
The conclusion of the research is that the girl is between the ages of 15 and 16 years old. This conclusion was reached after medical professionals conferred and discussed the various elements that go into estimating a person’s age.
The report has been signed by the chairperson of the medical board in addition to the other ten members of the board.
In the past, a medical report concluded that Dua Zehra is between the ages of 16 and 17 years old. Despite this, her father disagreed with the conclusion and stated that she is only 14 years old.
This is in contrast to what Dua Zehra stated in her statement before the SHC, in which she stated that she is 18 years old.
After some time had passed, the Sindh Health Department received an order from a Karachi trial court that was taking place during the hearing of the alleged kidnapping of the girl to establish the age of Dua Zehra. In response to this order, the Sindh Health Department assembled the largest-ever medical board consisting of 10 experts.
According to the notification that was distributed by the social media activist and petitioner’s lawyer Jibran Nasir, the medical board was conducted by Prof. Saba Sohail, the Principal of Dow Medical College. A radiologist, a gynecologist, a dentist, and an expert in forensics were all members of the board.
