In the first five months of 2022, Pakistan produced 12 million phones

According to the PTA, during the first five months of 2022 (January–May), 12.41 million phones were produced or put together in Pakistan. Compared to 0.94 million phones that were brought in for commercial use (PTA).

In May, local manufacturers in Pakistan produced and put together a total of 2.69 million mobile phones. 2021 produces 24.66 million phones. This is an 88% rise from 2020 when there were only 13.05 million. 24.66 million cell phones are built-in in 2021.

According to official numbers from the PTA

Commercial imports of mobile phones will drop from 24.51 million in 2020 to 10.26 million in 2021. This is a significant drop. This is a big drop in the total amount. The 12,41 million mobile phones include 6.99 million 2G phones and 5.42 million smartphones made or put together in the United States. Also, the data show that 53 percent of the mobile devices connected to the Pakistan network are smartphones. While 47 percent of the mobile devices can only connect to the 2G network.

According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, Pakistan imported mobile phones worth a total of $1.946 billion during the first eleven months (July–May) of 2021-22. This is higher than the $1.860 billion in the year before. During the same time last year, $1.860 billion in imported. Even though there has been an increase in domestic manufacturing, this represents a growth of 4.62 percent (PBS).

Information from PBS showed that mobile phone imports into Pakistan dropped by 35.54 percent from April to May 2022, from $212.881 million to $137.213 million. Relative to April 2022’s $212.881 million.

The sales of mobile phones dropped by 21.82 percent from one year to the next, bringing the total to a negative value when compared to $175.501 million in May of 2021.
