Jamaat-e-Islami demands deportation of Indian ambassador

In response to recent derogatory remarks at the Holy Prophet (PBUH) from two prominent members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has urged that the Indian ambassador be expelled from the country by the federal government.

Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Siraj-ul-Haq made the announcement during his speech at a public rally on Mall Road in Lahore. The rally was held to protest the coalition government that has been in power since June 25.

This coalition administration, according to the JI Ameer, is dishonest in the same way that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is (PTI). The regime that is governed by Shehbaz Sharif has been unable to bring inflation under control. Both the PML-N and the PTI are pointing fingers rather than providing solutions, he continued.

Siraj-ul-Haq went on to say that the party has come to the conclusion that it will begin its protest of the federal government on June 25 by staging a rail march. “Passengers traveling by train will arrive from a variety of regions around the country. We will not relent in our efforts to bring about the Islamic Revolution,” he went on to say.

The JI Ameer stated that the budget ideas were finalized under the dictation of the International Monetary Fund  (IMF), despite the fact that the JI Ameer referred to the budget of the current government as “anti-people”. He continued by saying, “An increase in the price of petroleum goods is not to be compared to a drone attack.”

Siraj-ul-Haq made this statement while discussing the offensive comments made by two BJP leaders against the Holy Prophet (PBUH). He was referring to the fact that blasphemy is being committed in India. “The people of all Islamic countries protested, but no ruler joined,” he stated. “All Islamic countries are ruled by Islamic governments.”

Atrocities are being committed against Muslims in India. What business does our ambassador have there,’ he said of the federal government, calling for the Indian envoy to be expelled.

The previous day, the Foreign Office (FO) issued a strong condemnation of the offensive comments made by two officials of India’s ruling party BJP against the Holy Prophet (PBUH), urging that the Indian government hold them accountable for their actions.

Today, while speaking at a weekly news conference, FO Spokesperson Asim Iftikhar Ahmed brought up the fact that India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was complicit in atrocities against minorities, particularly Muslims. He specifically mentioned this fact.
