In the absence of a finance minister in the province of Punjab, the Chief Minister of Punjab, Hamza Shahbaz, would be responsible for reviewing the proposals for the Punjab budget, which will include the annual development plan of the province.
The conference, which will be managed by Hamza Shahbaz and attended by province ministers and government officials to finalize suggestions for the budget, will be led by Hamza Shahbaz. The provincial ministers have not yet been assigned their portfolios.
The Punjab provincial government has called a meeting of the provincial assembly for June 13 in order to present the budget. Despite this, it appears unlikely that the budget will be easily approved by the assembly in the presence of Speaker Parvez Elahi because there is no clear majority on either side of the aisle following the de-seating of 25 PTI lawmakers by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
It is important to note that on Friday, Finance Minister Miftah Ismail presented the budget for the financial year 2022-23, also known as Budget 2022-23, to the National Assembly.
It has been announced that the federal budget for the fiscal year 2022–2023 will have a total outlay of 9502 billion rupees. This budget will include measures for what the government has referred to as “sustainable economic growth, industrial and agriculture development, and relief for the poor people.”
