The All Pakistan Trade Union Association rejected the federal government’s decision to close business at 8:30 pm.
In an attempt to save energy, the National Economic Council (NEC) decided to order the closure of markets across the country at 8:30 pm.
All Pakistan Trade Union Association President Khalid Pervez in his statement said that they are already facing a critical economic situation due to cargo shedding and rising inflation. The decision will affect them heavily.
He said that due to the hot weather, people often shop at night and the NEC’s decision will create more financial problems for them.
He said no stores will close at 8:30 pm and announced that he will keep his business open as usual.
Pervez urged the government to withdraw its decision on the early closure of businesses.

The NEC made the conclusion during a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. All province chief ministers attended the meeting, while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was represented by his chief secretary, Dr. Shehzad Khan.
