A task force is to be formed at the direction of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in order to stimulate investment across a variety of sectors.
According to the specifics, the Prime Minister requested that all taxes on the raw materials used by export companies be eliminated. A task force is also constituted for tourism, pharmaceuticals, information technology, electronic commerce, large-scale manufacturing, and agriculture on the orders of the PM.
PM Shehbaz was of the opinion that the current government is making a concerted effort to assure the production of agricultural commodities of export quality. He added that this is the first time a government has taken a look at the continuity of policies, which was a groundbreaking concept.
During the course of his speech, Shehbaz Sharif stated that the economy of the country and the well-being of the people are unrelated to politics.
On the other hand, a group from the American Business Council paid a visit to the office of Prime Minister Shehbaz in Islamabad.
Representatives from the Pharmaceutical Industry, the Food Processing Industry, the Information Technology Sector, Electronic Commerce, the Retail Industry, the Textile Industry, and the Logistics Industry were present at the conference.
The problems that investors were having were swiftly addressed by the Prime Minister, who gave orders to the Secretary of Commerce and the Secretary of the Investment Board.
He went on to say that any problems should be notified within a week’s time.
Earlier on Tuesday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif reiterated his call for a Charter of Economy and stated that it was high time for all of the stakeholders to join hands in order to formulate an unalterable policy framework for the purpose of leading the nation to achieve agro-based and export-oriented growth.
In his address at the Pre-Budget Conference that was held here, he stated that the primary components of the plan should be the improvement of exports and agricultural products as well as the management of financial resources.
