18 people killed as van plunges into ravine in Qilla Saifullah

When a van carrying at least 25 people careened off the road in the Qilla Saifullah district of Balochistan, at least 18 people were murdered and seven others were injured.


According to the deputy commissioner of the district, the unfortunate passenger van was travelling from Loralai to Zhob when it flipped near Akhtarzai as a result of speeding. As a result of the accident, 18 people were killed and seven others were injured.

As soon as the rescue crews received the information, they went to the spot and transported the injured and dead to a hospital that was nearby. There was no information immediately available regarding their identities.

Those in charge of the rescue operation have stated that the victims of the disaster included both women and children. There were nine members of the same family among the deceased passengers.

According to the deputy commissioner of the district, Hafiz Muhammad Qasim, a search and rescue effort was currently under progress to remove the dead from the gorge.

The news of the disaster was met with an outpouring of grief almost immediately after it was reported. Both President Arif Alvi and FM Bilawal have expressed their regret over what took place.

When an accident occurred on March 28 in the Upper Dir district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), at least seven persons were killed and eight others were injured. The accident occurred in a van in which they were travelling.

The Patrak area is where the accident reportedly took place, as reported by the police.
