Tom Cruise’s Top Gun: Maverick broke global box office record with $100M opening

Top Gun: Maverick has exceeded projections at box office with a huge $100M on opening weekend. Therefore, the actor Tom Cruise has reached a significant professional milestone with the success of his most recent film.

In this picture, Tom Cruise reprises his role as US military pilot Pete “Maverick” Mitchell from the original blockbuster classic from 1986. Top Gun: Maverick has handed Cruise his first opening weekend of $100 million and broke global box office.

After Spider-Man: No Way Home, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and The Batman, Top Gun: Maverick had the biggest opening weekend of any non-superhero film released since the pandemic. It also became the highest-opening film overall.

The head of domestic distribution for Paramount, remarked that these figures are ridiculously wonderful. These are going so far as to call them over the top. He has pleased for everyone and delighted for everyone involved, especially Tom and the filmmakers.

Cruise has renowned for films that had enormous blockbuster debuts at the box office. Now, he has reached a career milestone thanks to the success of this picture.

Before Maverick, his best domestic debut came in 2005, with Steven Spielberg’s War of the Worlds, which debuted to a total of $64 million. Maverick has set to break box office records. In 2018, the successful action film instalment Mission: Impossible — Fallout brought in a total of $61 million.
