3 policemen dead, over 100 injured during raids and clashes with PTI protestors

A spokesperson for the Punjab Police stated that there were three policemen killed and over one hundred injured during the long march organized by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on May 25.

During the PTI’s long march, there were apparently fights between PTI workers and police forces, as well as raids on PTI workers’ homes. According to a spokesperson for the Punjab Police, three policemen were killed in these incidents, while over one hundred were reportedly injured during the long march. He also mentioned that the protesters were able to take control of 11 police vehicles.

According to the information available, one police officer passed away in Lahore, while two others passed away in Attock. During a search warrant operation at the home of a PTI official in Lahore, Constable Kamal was shot and died.

In spite of this, two police officers named Mudassir Abbas and Muhammad Javed were killed when an accident involving their bus occurred in Attock. According to the speaker, Mudassir Abbas was originally from Faisalabad, and Muhammad Javed was originally from Sialkot.

In addition, the spokesperson stated that 49 police officers from Attock, 34 officers from Lahore, and nine officers from Sargodha were injured as a result of the fighting. During the course of their duty, law enforcement officers in the Mianwali, Rawalpindi, and Jhelum districts were all injured.

In addition to vandalizing 11 police vehicles, the protesters also destroyed public property, set fire to trees and green belts, and stole weapons, including short machine guns (SMG), from law enforcement officers.
