Female founded smart health tech medIQ secured $1.8 million in pre-seed funding

Pakistani female founded smart health tech medIQ has received $1.8 million in pre-seed investment. Pakistani women-led firms have only collected 3% of overall startup ecosystem financing in the previous five years. Therefore, this fundraising is a pioneering opportunity for Pakistani female entrepreneurs to show what they can do.

Dr. Saira Siddique founder and CEO of smart health tech medIQ. She stated, “We have delighted to have completed this critical fundraising round. It is a validation of our holistic healthcare strategy by top investors with substantial healthcare and technological experience.”

Patients, healthcare providers and insurers are all benefiting from improved quality and convenience. It also reduced cost to all parties involved. medIQ has a tremendous ability to become an important regional player. A modern healthcare system must have an integrated digital platform in order to provide an efficient care model at scale. Moreover, medIQ has a proven track record, having serviced over 300,000 patients in only 18 months.

From $65 million invested in 2020 to $350 million in 2021, the COVID-19 outbreak was a driver for Pakistan’s startup environment. Venture capital funding in the healthcare industry has lagged. However, it has anticipated to improve as investors become more interested in this area.
