ANP declined to join PML-N govt: sources

Asfandyar Wali Khan, the leader of the Awami National Party (ANP), has refused to join the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) administration, despite being given the governorship of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and a ministry.

ANP has been excused from being a member of the PML-N government by sources. It has been learned that the ANP has been promised the governorship of KP as well as a ministry by the new administration.

The ANP president, Asfandyar Wali Khan, prevented the party’s leaders from adopting the PML-N government’s proposal. PML-N and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Asfandyar Wali Khan said in a statement that he is grateful for the invitation to form a coalition government from the two parties.

In light of the current political upheaval, he stated that it had been agreed to assign posts to the coalition partners. ANP leader Khan has stated that the party’s leadership does not wish to see the country’s political unrest worsen.

The ANP’s national chairman stated that the organisation of the political party throughout the country is their top priority.
