ISPR claims audio tape attributed to ex-COAS Gen Retd Mirza Aslam Baig is fake

It has been revealed that an audio tape claimed to former Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Retired Mirza Aslam Baig that has been circulating on social media is fake, according to the military’s media wing.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the attack is part of a disinformation and propaganda effort aimed at state institutions and institutes of learning.

Following the release of a statement by former army chief General Retired Mirza Aslam Baig, he claimed that the social media campaign against the Pakistan Army was a conspiracy of the country’s adversaries.

Mirza Aslam Baig, in an audio message, expressed his displeasure with the allegations made on social media against military leaders that were ascribed to him.

In his words, the Pakistan Army is his identity and source of pride. His remarks were followed by the statement that he respects each and every commander and soldier of the Pakistan Army and that propaganda intended to malign the armed services is an immoral activity.

Aslam Beg has stated that he will always support the military forces until the end of his days.
