According to Radio Pakistan, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian has assured Islamabad that political changes in Pakistan will not have an impact on relations between Islamabad (Pakistan) and Beijing (China).
China’s spokesperson stated during a press briefing in Beijing on Tuesday that the country will maintain its policy of friendly relations with Pakistan.
According to him, “We hope that all groups in Pakistan would remain together and work together to defend the country’s overall national stability and progress.”
Shehbaz Sharif had stated in his first speech, delivered immediately after being elected as prime minister, that China had been Pakistan’s partner through thick and thin. “No one would be able to grab our friendship with Pakistan and China from us,” he had declared, describing it as a “long-lasting relations.”
Additionally, PM Shehbaz Sharif has stated that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project will be carried ahead and that CPEC projects will move forward at a faster pace during his tenure as prime minister of Pakistan.
