Meanwhile, Senator Faisal Javed Khan of the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) and Chairman of the Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting urged the people to be optimistic. “Imran Khan considers you to be one of his closest friends. There is no way our country will ever be turned over to crooked individuals. Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, speaking to the media at the Parliament Lodges, took a jab at Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, claiming that the prime minister ousted his government before his dismissal. In response to Imran Khan’s vow that he would surprise the opposition, he stated that the people had been waiting for the surprise for three and a half years, and that they were now simply waiting for his removal from power. He went on to say that there would be no new surprises.
On April 1, Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar accepted the resignation of Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Ahmad Khan Buzdar, which was approved by the governor of the province.
Punjab Governor Sarwar had summoned the Punjab Assembly session in Lahore on April 2 at 11:00 hours to elect a new chief minister, but the session was postponed after the governor received a petition from the opposition.
