In the murder case of Nazim Jokhio, the Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday granted interim pre-arrest release to Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) MNA Jam Abdul Karim Bijar till April 11.
The court ordered the legislator to participate in the inquiry into the incident.
Karim, who had previously returned from the United Arab Emirates and submitted a bail plea, appeared before Justice Omer Sial of the SHC on Tuesday. His attorney said that the applicant had returned to the nation and wished to report himself to the authorities for questioning.
In the absence of a ruling on the merits of the case, Justice Sial granted him pre-arrest bail until April 11 in exchange for solvent surety guarantees totaling Rs 100,000.
In a previous ruling in the same case, a division bench on March 25 granted Karim protective bail for a period of ten days, which he had requested through his attorney.
Jam Awais and others were nominated by Afzal Jokhio in connection with the murder of his brother Nazim Jokhio, whose tortured corpse was discovered near Jam’s farmhouse in Memon Goth Malir on November 3, 2021, a day after the dead had stopped some local and foreign guests of Jam from hunting hubara bustard in his village Salar Goth in Dahbeeji.
