In a letter sent on Tuesday, a PTI team reached out to the dissident Tareen group, requesting their support for the ruling party’s recent moves.
Awn Chaudhry has been contacted by Federal Ministers Pervez Khattak and Fawad Chaudhry.
In his statement, Khattak stated that all of the group’s demands had been met and that any remaining concerns would be addressed as soon as possible. According to him, the PML-Q leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi should be appointed to the coveted position of Punjab chief minister, and the group should support that decision.
In his response, Awn Chaudhry stated that the group would declare its approach after consulting with its members, which was received positively.
Pervaiz Elahi and Moonis Elahi were called for the second time in the last 24 hours by Awn Chaudhry, who had previously contacted them.
On Monday, Prime Minister Imran Khan announced that Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi would be appointed to the highly desired position of Punjab chief minister. Federal Minister Tariq Bashir Cheema resigned from his position as a result of the agreement reached between the PTI and the PML-Q.
The like-minded group of Jahangir Tareen, the estranged leader of the PTI, has called a consultative session for today to discuss the situation following Usman Buzdar’s resignation. The group’s consultative session has been scheduled for tonight at 6:00 p.m. at Jahangir Tareen’s apartment.
