PM Imran Khan praises govt over ‘lower unemployment rate’ in Pakistan

On Wednesday, Prime Minister(PM) Imran Khan took to Twitter to express his gratitude to the people of Pakistan for their assistance in combating the Covid-19 outbreak.

PM Imran Khan wrote on Twitter: “I want to commend my government on how well we dealt with the Covid pandemic — we fared far better than all of the countries in South Asia.”

He revealed data from the World Bank, which showed that Pakistan had the “lowest unemployment rate” among other South Asian countries over the year 2020 to 2022, according to the data.

According to the research, India’s jobless rate was eight percent between 2020 and 2022, while Pakistan’s unemployment rate was only 4.3 percent, placing it ahead of other South Asian countries.

Asad Umar, the head of Pakistan’s National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), announced earlier today that the country had recorded zero Covid deaths for the first time in the preceding two years.

According to the latest reports, there have been no covid-related deaths in the country in the recent 24 hours. “This is the first time in two years that something like this has happened,” he wrote on Twitter.
