Pakistan Day: Alvi says we will not sacrifice on country’s sovereignty

President Dr. Arif Alvi underlined on Pakistan Day that the country will never make any concessions in the area of sovereignty and security.

The president, speaking at a large military parade staged in conjunction with the Pakistan Day celebration, stated that the country’s armed forces will respond decisively to any aggression directed at them.

He argued that India’s “expansionist designs” are a major impediment to regional peace and that they must be addressed. He called on New Delhi to put an end to its persecution campaign in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and made it clear that liberation movements could not be repressed through the use of force alone.

During his speech, President Alvi stressed the importance of national unity in order to manage the challenges that Pakistan is facing, as well as the important role that Islamabad is playing in preserving peace and security in the region.

He expressed gratitude to the security forces for their efforts in restoring calm to the country. The president emphasized that “we must remain consistent in our fight against terrorists” in order to prevent these elements from regrouping.

A grand military parade was held in Islamabad earlier today as part of the celebrations for Pakistan Day, during which the armed services displayed their power.
