The govt allies, the Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) and the Muttahida Qauumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) will come to a final decision on the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan at the eleventh hour.
A final decision by the govt allies on whether to support the government or the opposition ahead of the no-confidence motion is expected within a couple of days.
Apparently, the PML-Q will announce its final choice after March 25, while the MQM-P has hinted that it will announce its plan after March 26.
Chaudhry brothers are expected to arrive in Islamabad on March 24, while Moonis Elahi, a member of the Pakistan Muslim League-Q, who is currently traveling abroad, is expected to arrive in the federal capital on March 23.
The Muttahida Qaumi Movement of Pakistan (MQM-P) will hold another round of negotiations with opposition leaders in Islamabad tomorrow, ahead of the vote of no confidence in Prime Minister Imran Khan that is expected to take place on Tuesday.
A delegation of MQM-P leaders, including Amir Khan and Waseem Akhtar, left for Islamabad on Tuesday morning. According to sources, the second group of MQM-P leaders is expected to arrive in Islamabad in the evening.
In a forthcoming meeting, the MQM-P and other opposition leaders are expected to discuss the current political situation as well as their strategy regarding the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, convenor of the MQM-P, was given authority by activists yesterday to make final decisions on the party’s political strategy and talks with the leaders of other political parties.
