Shehbaz Sharif nominee for the position of prime minister: Maryam Nawaz

Following the triumph of the no-trust vote against PM Imran, PML-N vice-president Maryam Nawaz said on Monday that Shehbaz Sharif will be the party’s nominee for prime minister.

Maryam said the opposition will “sit and decide” on the future prime minister, but the PML-N will pick Shehbaz Sharif.

She noted that delaying the National Assembly session constituted “disobeying the Constitution and would trigger Article 6” in light of the premier’s no-confidence resolution.

“IK! It’s over, “Adding that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had formally disbanded. Nobody will save the PM now that he has lost the game, the PML-N vice president continued.

The multinational plot against Imran Khan, but he conspires against himself. “A million people would not have been needed if he had done his duty,” she claimed.

Maryam Nawaz said the opposition would not have had to experience this day if the PM had maintained an eye on the prices of wheat, ghee, sugar and petrol.

Maryam accused the PTI of interfering with state institutions’ impartiality. She said the ruling party “talks about neutrality” but does not follow the Constitution.

‘Neutrality’ was denied even to the FIA and the NAB, the PML-N leader said.

Accusing the ruling party of rigging elections, he claimed that “counting of ballots was not completed in 2018 nor in Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, or the Senate”.

The PTI was “slipping away like sand,” he claimed.

Maryam Nawaz accused Imran Khan of buying votes, stating he has “fallen prey to the incentives process, his own hubris and pride”.
