The Karachi Division of the Pakistan People’s Party protested against the attack on Sindh House by activists of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in Islamabad on Saturday.
The Islamabad police acted as a quiet spectator to the aggression whereas the Sindh police swiftly acted and salvaged the situation, according to PPP leaders.
Saeed Ghani, Sindh Information and Labour Minister, said incumbent federal ministers were openly threatening and plotting to cause bloodshed in the country as PTI’s reign ended.
He recalled the PPP’s recent peaceful march from Karachi to Islamabad headed by party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
It was a major plot, he added, because the PPP knew exactly how to respond to such blatant acts of violence, and they were simply waiting for orders from the party’s leader.
He said two PTI members from Karachi led 30-40 ruling party supporters to attack the Sindh House.
The attack on Sindh House was a cowardly attempt aimed to terrify the People’s Party, Ghani remarked. He alleged a PM adviser had gone to the Islamabad police station and freed the assailants.
He added the PM and the interior minister’s names should be in the FIR filed following the violent incident.
Waqar Mehdi, PPP Sindh General-Secretary, alleged a dangerous conspiracy was developed in Islamabad to attack Sindh House. He stated the attack may have resulted in bloodbath.
PPP Karachi General-Secretary Jawed Nagori stated the PTI’s government was nearly over after 24 lawmakers defected.
