According to reports, Prince Charles’ wife Camilla Parker has named the new royal patron of the National Theatre. Previously, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down from their positions as senior royals.
Kensington Palace stated that Meghan had succeeded the Queen as patron of the arts. The Duchess believes that the arts may help unite individuals from many origins and areas. It made logical for Meghan to be a patron of a drama-based organisation because she has best recognised for her role.
“She has proven to be a very active patron and we look forward to working with her,” artistic director said. After a year-long assessment, Meghan and Harry have forced to formally give up their royal patronages and returned to Queen Elizabeth.
“The Duchess championed our work with communities and young people throughout the UK. Our commitment is to make theatre accessible to everyone,” the National Theatre said in a statement.
After Meghan Markle, Camilla Parker has now prepared to follow in her footsteps and became new patron of National Theatre.
According to press release, “It is an honour to have the Duchess of Cornwall as our royal patron. That everyone should have access to the arts and creativity, regardless of where they reside. It has an honour to work with the Duchess during this epidemic. We look forward to working with her for many more years to come.”
