Ahead of Pakistan Day, ISPR publishes “Shad Rahay Pakistan” as a new national anthem

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has released a new national anthem, named ‘Shad Rahay Pakistan,’ in advance of Pakistan Day (March 23).

Instead of that, the title of the song is a passionate prayer for the country’s continued prosperity and success. The song has been performed by Shuja Haider and Yashal Shahid, two well-known Pakistani vocalists who have gained international recognition.

As the song progresses, the lyrics express the desire that Pakistan’s national flag will always be flown proudly and that the country will continue down the path of peace and prosperity as it has done thus far.

An official Twitter account belonging to the director-general of the Internal Security and Public Relations Agency shared a link to the film hosted on YouTube, which was posted by the military’s media wing.

From the YouTube video, the video caption reads, among other things:

“Further, the song is a celebration of the nation’s will to remain cohesive and unyielding in its pursuit of wealth. When sung in the anthem’s chorus, it expresses the patriotic desire to see Pakistan’s national flag flying brightly at all times. This prayer for the country’s continued prosperity in all years to come reverberates throughout the building’s interior.”
