See what can be given for the Opposition withdrawing the no-confidence motion: Fawad Chaudhry

Fawad Chaudhry, the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, made an offer to the Opposition on the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan, in an attempt to cool the rising political temperature in the country.

During an interview with Aaj News, the information minister stated that if the Opposition withdraws its no-confidence resolution, “let’s see what might be offered to them in exchange for their time.”

Chaudhry claimed that the MPs will cast their votes in the National Assembly after listening to the PTI supporters at D-Chowk.

According to the minister, the planned public gathering at Islamabad D-Chowk will function as a “mini-referendum” on the no-confidence motion.

In response to the prime minister’s appeal for a public gathering, Fawad voiced his expectation that more than one million people would turn out to see the event.

In addition, he stated that “the Opposition will look at the people to see if they agree with us or not.”

Chaudhry went on to say that since the introduction of the 18th Amendment, “emergency powers have been severely curtailed,” therefore ruling out the possibility of declaring a national emergency in the country.

Fawad indicated, when questioned about his thoughts on the current political situation, that the Opposition should drop the no-confidence resolution since it had engendered enmity in the political atmosphere.

Chaudhry was concerned that the country’s political situation would deteriorate and have a negative influence on its economy and society.
