Tariq Bashir Cheema, a member of the Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) National Assembly, has contradicted Fawad Chaudhary’s allegations that the government and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had reached an agreement on the no-trust motion.
Tariq Bashir Cheema, a member of the National Assembly for the Pakistan Muslim League-Q, has stated that rumors of a settlement between the PML-Q and the PTI are not based on truth.
Following the meeting between Information Minister Fawad Chaudhary and Farrukh Habib with the PML-Q leadership on Friday, government sources reported that an agreement had been struck with the party’s leadership.
PML-Q leader Tariq Bashir Cheema has categorically denied reports of a deal over the no-trust motion. He stated that the meeting between PML-Q president Pervaiz Illahi and Information Minister Fawad Chaudhary did not discuss any other issues other than the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) ordinance.
He went on to say that only the Prime Minister or the Federal committee have the authority to speak with the PML-Q leadership about any political problem. In a lighthearted manner, he added, “If we have to talk to Fawad Chaudhary about political problems, we should probably leave politics behind.”
According to sources, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhary and Punjab Chief Minister Farrukh Habib discussed the ouster of the CM at the meeting, but no further details were presented to the PML-Q leadership after the meeting ended.
