Tariq Bashir Cheema wants Pervaiz Elahi to be the next chief minister

Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar stated on Friday that Tariq Bashir Cheema, the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q), has expressed a desire to see Pervaiz Elahi become the next chief minister.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) administration and its ally, the Pakistan Muslim League (Q), were extremely explicit in their discussions, stated Asad Umar.  He also stated that, in accordance with their statements, the PML-Q is standing alongside the PTI administration.

“There is nothing wrong with wishing for anything in particular. “Tariq Bashir Cheema would want to see Pervaiz Elahi appointed as the chief minister of [Punjab],” the federal minister stated.

Umar stated that the PML-Q had not imposed any conditions on the replacement of the Punjab chief minister. He went on to say that a view was expressed on the possibility of a change in the chief minister.

“Everyone, including Aleem Khan, is conducting meetings to discuss the current political scenario. It goes without saying that decisions will be made in light of the current political climate. “Aleem Khan has not made any public statements regarding his decision to leave the political party.”

We are not improper in holding meetings because certain meetings are being held on our directions as well.” Usually, the visitors tell us that they were offered the amount of money that they had been offered.”

In Asad Umar’s words, “the no-confidence resolution was submitted by the opposition parties, and they are completely responsible for obtaining the necessary votes.”

The federal minister argued that if the opposition did not show up at their benches when the prime minister sought a vote of confidence from the house, then why should we waste our time by going to the assembly on the day of the no-confidence motion?

Regarding the Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan, Umar stated that the MQM-P is also an ally of the PTI government and that it continues to work side by side with the government.

Besides going to court with the MQM-P over the Sindh local government law and coordinating on the Karachi Transformation Plan, he stated that the federal government had addressed its census dispute. He also stated that the federal government had resolved its census dispute.
