Pakistan values China’s involvement in global and regional affairs: COAS Bajwa

Ms. Pang Chunxue, the Chinese Charge d’Affaires, paid a visit to General Qamar Javed Bajwa, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS),  at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.

During the meeting, issues of mutual interest, defense coordination, progress on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and regional security were all reviewed in depth.

Speaking at the event, COAS General Bajwa stated that Pakistan recognizes China’s importance in global and regional affairs and that the country looks forward to further strengthening our bilateral partnership. He emphasized the importance of all regional countries working together to ensure long-term peace and stability in the region.

The visiting dignitary expressed gratitude to the COAS for the special measures taken to ensure a safe and secure environment for the CPEC projects in Pakistan, as well as for efforts to maintain regional stability.

Earlier, Pakistan and China reaffirmed their support for the high-quality development of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and their commitment to ensuring the smooth functioning of completed projects and the early completion of those currently under construction.

When Prime Minister Imran Khan met with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang in Beijing during his four-day visit to China in February, the two leaders came to a mutually beneficial agreement.
