“Our future generations will not forgive us if we fail to remove this selected [Prime Minister Imran Khan] today,” Asif Ali Zardari, the leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), has stated. Hopefully, we will be able to throw this together soon.”
He was speaking at the D-Chowk Islamabad rally, which marked the conclusion of the Awami long march, which was led by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
Zardari stated that “the time has come to get rid of this selected Imran Khan.” Zardari went on to say that
“Now, all political parties, with the exception of this one, will come together and form a government that will provide relief to the people.” You and your children, the next generation, will be taken care of by that administration.”
Zardari claimed that Prime Minister Imran Khan had stated that if he were fired, he would become even more dangerous.
It’s my responsibility to tell him that he should come out so that the entire nation can see who is dangerous and who isn’t.”
The former president also expressed gratitude to the PPP jiyala (workers) who had demonstrated their loyalty to Bilawal, saying that he would never forget their support.
The opposition on Tuesday lodged a motion of no-confidence against Prime Minister Imran Khan at the National Assembly Secretariat in an attempt to remove him from his position as prime minister.
Zardari, along with PML-N leader Shahbaz Sharif and Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, spoke at a press conference yesterday, claiming that the opposition had more than the necessary numbers to ensure the success of the no-confidence vote in the government.
