Following the deadly suicide attack in Peshawar, Prime Minister Imran Khan is chairing a high-level meeting of the country’s civil and military leadership to discuss the National Action Plan (NAP). The conference is being held to assess the overall security situation in Pakistan.
There will be representatives from all provinces as well as the Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Jawed Bajwa, National Security Adviser Dr. Moeed Yousuf, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, and other civil officers in attendance at the National Action Plan meeting.
According to insiders, the conference would examine the present situation in Afghanistan as well as the security situation in Pakistan in the wake of a recent terrorist incident in a mosque in Peshawar.
They went on to say that the huddle would examine progress on several aspects of the National Action Plan.
According to reports published earlier today, law enforcement authorities (LEAs) have identified the suicide attacker and one of the handlers who were engaged in the suicide attack at a mosque in Peshawar.
According to sources with knowledge of the incident, the suicide bomber was identified using his alias of Abdullah because he was known to alter his name on a regular basis.
Their statement went on to say that data, as well as a photograph of one of the handlers, had been discovered. He has been identified as Hasan Shah, a resident of the Jamrud region in the Khyber district.
While this is happening, a representative for the Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar revealed today that the death toll from the mosque blast had risen to 64.
