At 3:00 p.m. on Monday (tomorrow), Prime Minister Imran Khan will host a crucial meeting of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) core committee at the Prime Minister’s House.
The premier directed that all members of the core committee report to PM House. Consultations on the current political climate and the approaching local government elections (LG elections) would take place among the members of the PTI core committee.
The core committee members will be briefed on the upcoming LG elections, which will take place in the coming weeks.
Furthermore, the issue of the opposition’s no-trust motion will be debated throughout the session as well.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Imran Khan stated that the opposition parties’ no-confidence motion will be defeated.
Furthermore, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi stated today that the opposition’s no-confidence motion is being postponed because they do not have the necessary votes to depose the administration.
The foreign minister stated that if the opposition has the support of 12 to 14 legislators, then what is causing them to postpone the no-trust vote?
It’s evident that they don’t have the necessary numbers, he said, adding that “the opposition is doing everything it can, but the Treasury members are holding solid in their convictions.”
He claimed that the opposition was attempting to bribe lawmakers by offering them tickets and money, but that they were honorable people and would not take advantage of such offers.
He went on to say that the PPP does not enjoy public support in Punjab and that polls have revealed that only 5% of people want to vote for them in elections. In his decision-making, Bilawal Bhutto relied on incorrect notions, and he will require time to mature.
