A warrant has been issued for Sonakshi Sinha’s arrest and she has been remanded in detention without the prospect of being released on bail.
Actress Sonakshi Sinha has been detained and imprisoned without bail, according to reports in the Indian media, in connection with an alleged fraud case. This was attributed to the actress’s failure to appear at a function in Delhi for which she had been awarded with Rs 3.7 million in compensation.
The event organiser, Pramod Sharma, a native of Muradabad, had organised a ceremony in Delhi for which Sonakshi Sinha had been invited as the chief guest, according to reports in the media. Despite this, the actress failed to arrive at the ceremony, causing the event’s organiser to demand a refund from her on her behalf.
In spite of the demands made by the event organiser, Sonakshi Sinha’s manager, according to reports, refused to issue a refund to the event organiser. As a result of the victim’s repeated attempts to reach Sonakshi Sinha but failure to get the money, she filed a case against the actress for fraud.
As previously reported, Sonakshi Sinha had travelled to Muradabad to provide a statement in the case. However, the actress has not been in court since, prompting the court to issue arrest warrants for her due to her lengthy absence from the proceedings.
Notably, Sonakshi Sinha recently responded to speculations of her engagement to Salman Khan by asserting that all of the reports were “baseless and false.”
