Pakistani versatile actor Masood Akhtar died after a long illness

A well-known versatile actor Masood Akhtar has died at the age of 82, following a long illness. For the past month and a half, he has been receiving treatment in a Lahore hospital for lung cancer.

Masood Akhtar was born in Sahiwal City on September 5, 1940. He began his career as a performer on stage in the 1960’s. He demonstrated the essence of acting in a number of classic dramas as well, where many of his roles were villains.

Furthermore, Pakistan’s government presented him with the Presidential Medal of Excellence for his contributions on August 14, 2005.

Executive Director Al-Hamra expressed tremendous grief over Masood Akhtar’s death. He said that he was a caring guy who dedicated his life to the arts and that he was a true artist. When Al-Hamra needed a Corning Body member, he was the best fit for the job. Now, Masood Akhtar has died and marked the end of an era in acting.

Morever, Al-Hamra plans to organise a meeting shortly to discuss Masood Akhtar’s work and personality. May Allah have pity on the departed and offer his loved ones patience.

It should note that after Asar Prayers, Masood Akhtar’s funeral prayers will offer at Usman Block, Gulshan-e-Ravi.
