Cricket Australia has contacted the team following the Peshawar Bomb Blast

Cricket Australia is actively following the security situation after a suicide bomber killed over 50 worshippers in a mosque in Peshawar earlier today.


Indirect communication with the Foreign Ministry. Currently, nothing indicates that the terror attack will affect Australia’s first visit to Pakistan since 1998.


There is little doubt that Pakistan has supplied a star-studded visiting squad with ‘head-of-state level’ protection.

They’re here for the Rawalpindi Test. They will be held in Karachi and Lahore. Three ODIs and one T20I at Islamabad. No Kangaroos this time.

When Australia last visited Pakistan 24 years ago, Mark Taylor hit a memorable 334 not out in the second Test at Peshawar. Despite the tie, Australia won 1-0.

Despite the Peshawar incident, the historic Australian tour is expected to go on.

Pakistani cricket supporters are not ready for another dark phase like the one that began with the Sri Lankan team bus attack in 2009.

The Pakistan Cricket Board and Cricket Australia must work together again to avoid a repeat of the unfortunate situation.
