PM Imran Khan announced incentives for freelancers and IT firms

On Friday, Prime Minister Imran Khan urged the relevant authorities to ensure that the incentives and facilities announced by the government for freelancers and the IT firms be implemented within the specified time frame in the directive.

The prime minister, who was presiding over a meeting to assess the incentives being provided to the information technology industry, stated that the government was offering the greatest amount of assistance to sectors that had enormous potential to benefit the national economy.

He mentioned the historic package announced by the government for the advancement of the information technology sector, and he stated that the government has implemented major reforms to make doing business easier.

The facilitation of competent freelancers, in his opinion, would result in an increase in remittances, as the development of information technology exports was one of the government’s top priorities.

The participants in the meeting were informed of the current status of the implementation of the incentives for startups, the industrial sector, and information technology firms.

According to reports, the government’s newly announced industries and information technology package is being implemented at a rapid rate, and an increase in the number of freelancers has been observed as a result of the government’s initiatives.

Furthermore, the State Bank of Pakistan was taking steps to ensure that freelancers’ funds from outside could be transferred through the country’s financial institutions. In addition, a framework enabling IT companies to take advantage of tax exemptions will be put in place very soon, according to officials.
