PML-Q assure PTI govt of its support and against no-trust move

The Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) on Tuesday informed Prime Minister Imran Khan that the PTI governments at the Centre and in Punjab will continue to get support despite an opposition strategy to depose the present government.

According to sources familiar with the incident, the Chaudhry brothers assured Prime Minister Imran Khan of his “full support” when the latter paid a visit to the residence of the PML-Q leadership in Lahore on Tuesday evening.

“There is no reason for us to leave the alliance led by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf,” the Chaudhry brothers informed Prime Minister Khan. Additionally, the leadership of the PML-Q informed the premier on recent talks held with opposition parties, including the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) (PML-N).

In response, Prime Minister Imran Khan congratulated the leadership of the Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) for staying steady with the ruling PTI and pledged to continue delivering relief to the people of Pakistan. “Providing relief to the poor is a primary priority of the PTI government,” Prime Minister Imran Khan remarked at a meeting with PML-Q leaders.

Prime Minister Imran Khan today paid a visit to the home of the Chaudhry brothers, leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q), who are a significant ally in both Punjab and the federal capital, in the wake of the latter’s recent discussions with opposition leaders.

The meeting was also attended by Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry, Energy Minister Hammad Azhar, and Federal Industries Minister Khusro Bakhtiar.

The development came after opposition parties held a series of talks with PML-Q leadership in recent weeks, in which they sought their cooperation in their efforts to depose the PTI government.
