According to SAPM Shahbaz Gill, Prime Minister Imran Khan has reached out to Jahangir Tareen, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), who has been dissatisfied with the government.
Jahangir Tareen, Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM), Shahbaz Gill, stated the Prime Minister Phone Call to Tareen to inquire about his health because the latter had been to the United Kingdom for a medical check-up.
Gill added that “Imran Khan can contact Tareen at any time because the two of them are old friends.”
It was revealed on Saturday that Jahangir Tareen, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), had left for London, just days after secretly meeting with opposition leaders ahead of a no-confidence vote against the present administration.
In accordance with sources, Jahangir Tareen went to London from Lahore after his health deteriorated the previous day and he was forced to be hospitalized to a medical facility.
Meanwhile, before departing for London, Tareen sent an email to parliamentarians who had supported him, urging them to keep in touch since he was simply traveling to London for a medical check-up.
According to reports last Friday, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid had suggested that Prime Minister Imran Khan contact with an “old friend.”
While responding to reports of talks between opposition leaders and Jahangir Tareen, he stated that he wanted the government to speak with the estranged PTI leader, and he also stated that he wanted the government to be independent in making political recommendations.
The fact that Jahangir Tareen reportedly met with PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is noteworthy, and Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed has proposed that the government seek his assistance in blocking the no-trust movement.
