To memorialize Shab-e-Meraj, the Sindh government declared on Monday that all public and private educational institutes throughout the province will be closed on Tuesday, March 1, to allow for the observance of the Night of Ascension.
The School Education and Literacy Department (SELD) has decided to close all schools, colleges, and institutions on Tuesday in observance of Shab-e-Meraj.
For the benefit of parents and students, front desk offices at all educational institutions in the province will remain open over the holiday in order to better serve their needs.

It has been approved by the Steering Committee, which met recently, according to the education secretary, that the annual public holidays specified by the education department be observed on the 27th of Rajab. All educational institutions will be closed on this day (March 1).
Also known as ‘The Night of Ascension,’ Muslims all across the world observe the Shab e-Meraj on the 27th of Rajab every year. Prophet Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him) made a remarkable voyage to the skies in a single night, which is commemorated in this verse.
