As part of his weekly radio address, President Dr. Arif Alvi emphasized that the usage of blockchain technology can be utilized to help combat corruption in the country, which was broadcast on Monday.
In his address to a function pertaining to the performance of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) in Islamabad, he stated that digitization of institutions can conserve crucial data and records while emphasizing the importance of using technology to combat corruption threat in society.
Blockchain technology, according to Arif Alvi, can be utilized for tracking transactions, decreasing corruption, and boosting transparency in both the public and private sectors, among other things.
He asserted that a comprehensive and inclusive approach is required in order to reap the full benefits of blockchain technology’s disruptive potential.
He praised the Federal Board of Revenue for providing relief to the people in the amount of Rs8.5 billion.
Later in the day, the president delivered the keynote address at the 14th convocation of the Sarhad University of Science and Technology in Islamabad, Pakistan.
The importance of strengthening information technology (IT) related education, he stated, in order to move the country forward on the path of growth.
Alvi had stated that there were excellent employment opportunities in the area and that the world would require approximately 80 million employees in the field of cybersecurity alone by 2030.
