Amir Liaquat, a member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Assembly, scholar, and television host, has stated yet again that he did not divorce his ex-wife and second wife Tuba Anwar in accordance with sharia law
In an interview with FHM Magazine, Aamir Liaquat said that he had neither divorced Syeda Suba Amir nor gone to court to sign the divorce papers.
A khula was granted to his ex-wife unilaterally by the courts in accordance with Pakistan’s Constitution, but it was not a sharia court, according to the scholar and television host.
Because, according to Amir Liaqat, authorization from the husband is also required for khula, Tuba Anwar did not have her sharia khula performed, according to the faith of Islam.
In response to a question, he stressed that if Tobia Anwar remarried, it would be considered ‘illegal’, as well as’sin and adultery,’ according to the law.
