On February 20, a Pakistan Army captain was killed while participating in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) carried out by security forces in Balochistan’s Kohlu area, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
According to the army’s media wing, on February 20, 2022, security forces carried out a clearance operation in the Balochistan district of Kohlu in rejoinder information concerning the existence of terrorists in the area.
As soon as the military began cordoning off the area, militants leaving the hideout launched indiscriminate fire on the advancing troops. As a result of the intense exchange of fire, Captain Haider Abbas chose martyrdom in his pursuit of the terrorists, according to the ISPR.
According to the statement, “a careful follow-up operation continues in the area to deal with the culprits who have sustained casualties but have managed to flee into surrounding mountains,” the statement continued.
In addition, the ISPR stated that “security forces operations to eliminate the terrorists” will continue and that “they will not be permitted to disrupt the hard-won peace in Balochistan.”
Funeral prayers for Capt Haider Abbas, who was killed in action, were conducted in Karachi. Lieutenant General Muhammad Saeed, Corps Commander Karachi, was in attendance at the funeral.
The Namaz e Janaza was attended by serving officers, troops, families of Shaheed, and a significant number of other persons. Captain Haider Abbas was laid to rest with full military honours and majesty.
