Jahangir Khan Tareen, the estranged leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has demanded 24 tickets from NA Opposition Leader Shehbaz Sharif for backing a no-trust motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan.
A private meeting was held between the dissatisfied PTI leader and the opposition leader. According to sources, Tareen asked the PML-N for a guarantee of 24 tickets in exchange for supporting the no-confidence motion against the prime.
It was also reported that the alienated PTI leader sent the opposition leader a list of lawmakers’ names.

Shehbaz has requested time from Tareen for assurance on the tickets issue, according to sources, and has subjected a final decision to the party’s consultation.
Meanwhile, it’s been reported that PML-N leaders have been told not to acknowledge or reject any such meeting in the media.
After a stunning electoral defeat on the Senate’s Islamabad seat in March 2021, PM Khan received a vote of confidence from the NA.
In the 342-member lower house, the prime minister earned 178 votes of confidence, exceeding the needed 172.
